Saudi Defense Minister’s Visit to Iran Marks New Stage in Regional Cooperation

Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman Al Saud arrived in Tehran today for what Iranian media called a “landmark visit,” signaling deepening diplomatic and defense ties between Riyadh and Tehran.

He was welcomed by Iranian Armed Forces Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Mohammad Hossein Baqeri, with whom he discussed military cooperation, regional security, and joint counterterrorism efforts, according to Arab News.

Prince Khalid met with Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, to whom he delivered a letter from Saudi King Salman, and conveyed the greetings of the Kingdom’s leadership.
