Iran continues to issue warnings of the harsh consequences it says will come in response to any U.S. attacks on its territory. “The Americans have 10 [military] bases in the region, particularly around Iran, and 50,000 troops” are deployed in these bases, said Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, commander of the IRGC’s Aerospace Division, according to Press TV, reported Tehran Times. “This means they are sitting in a glass house; and when one sits in a glass house, he does not throw stones at others.”
According to another report in the Tehran Times, Iran’s armed forces have readied missiles with the capability to strike U.S.-related positions, amid ongoing threats of military action from Trump if Tehran does not agree to a new nuclear agreement on his terms. A significant number of these launch-ready missiles are located in underground facilities scattered across the country, designed to withstand airstrikes.
In an interview with Yemen’s Almasirah TV on March 31, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi emphasized that Tehran will never tolerate threats and won’t allow anybody to speak with the language of force. “The enemies will regret their threats,” Tasnim news agency quoted him as saying.
