The “Netzwerk Friedenskooperative” (Peace Cooperative Network) umbrella organization for the Easter Marches, noted that, in comparison with last year, there was a slight increase in participation in the 120 or so events taking place in Germany from Thursday, April 17 to Monday, April 21, most of them on April 19. In one of the major rallies, in Stuttgart, there were 4,500 people who gathered on Saturday, April 19. There were a reported 6,000 in Dresden.
This year’s central themes were the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East, as well as the planned major arms build-up in Germany and Europe. The demonstrators opposed the plan to station U.S. medium-range weapons in Germany next year.
