President Donald Trump bragged yesterday about killing Houthis in Yemen. He posted what appears to be a drone video on his Truth Social account showing a gathering of what looks to be about 75 people in roughly circular formation getting blown up. “These Houthis gathered for instructions on an attack,” he claimed. “Oops, there will be no attack by these Houthis! They will never sink our ships again!”

Middle East Spectator posted a frame from Trump’s video accompanied by a second image taken from ground level, perhaps from a nearby hilltop, of a similar gathering. The first image is labeled: “What the U.S. claims to be a gathering of ‘Houthi terrorists’” The second: “A celebratory Yemeni tribal gathering on the day of Eid Al-Fitr,” ending the fasting month of Ramadan. No weapons are evident in either of the images. “The U.S. military brags about wiping out gatherings of unarmed civilians,” the Middle East Spectator trenchantly concludes.
