In his press conference today with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Donald Trump would have done well to limit himself to a couple of key topics, the most important of which was his announcement of direct talks between the U.S. and Iran to begin April 12 in Saudi Arabia. Instead, with Netanyahu sitting for the most part quietly by his side, he went into his now-tiresome description of the invasion of the U.S. by criminals, mentally-ill and drug-addicted foreigners; how imposing tariffs on the whole world will make America enormously wealthy and allow it to pay off its $37 trillion debt, and why relocating Palestinians to other countries from their historic homeland is the right thing to do. As he indicated in his Truth Social posting today, he has declared war on China for daring to take countermeasures to his outrageous tariffs and for “taking advantage of us” for years.
The proposed `”America First” solutions to these “problems” are not only delusional but will do great harm to the United States and to the countries involved. Trump continues to insist on moving Palestinians out of their homeland, which Netanyahu now says should be done only “if people want to.” The racist members of his own cabinet clearly state there is no choice here—Gazans must move or be moved.
