Today, just three days before the scheduled meeting in Oman involving U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi, the U.S. State Department announced new sanctions targeting Iran’s nuclear program. The sanctions include, according to the press release, five entities and one individual based in Iran that “support key entities managing and overseeing Iran’s nuclear program.”
