In an article on May 27, UK Column “The Blair-Bush Project that Brought Al Qaeda to Power,” Vanessa Beeley documents, by showing the historical continuity, that the evil alliance of British Prime Minister Tony Blair, U.S. President George W. Bush, and MI6, which launched the March 20, 2003 overthrow of Iraq’s Saddam Hussein, also brought Al Qaeda to power in Syria by overthrowing Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Dec. 8, 2024. These operations also involved Britain’s Jonathan Powell.
The British hand is ever present.
Beeley reviews that Syria became a sovereign nation once again by breaking free from the 1916 Sykes-Picot Treaty, by which, in a secret treaty, the French and British “divided the Ottoman Empire into British and French spheres of influence,” which submerged nations like Syria.
Beeley cites the 1996 “Clean Break Doctrine,” written by U.S. operatives Richard Perle and Douglas Feith for Israel, as the starting place for later operations against Syria, which doctrine stated, “Israel can shape its strategic environment, in cooperation with Turkey and Jordan, by weakening, containing and even rolling back Syria. This effort can focus on removing Saddam Hussein from power in Iraq, an important Israeli strategic objective in its own right as a means of foiling Syria’s regional ambitions.”
After stating much useful history, Beeley writes, “Fast forward to December 2024 and we witness the final fall of the Syrian capital, Damascus, after a rapid advance by the forces of terror under the control of Turkey and Israel, with the hidden hands of the U.K. and U.S. controlling events behind the scenes. The fabricated ‘War on Terror,’ given life by the tragic and U.S, deep-state-orchestrated events of 9/11, culminated in the take-over of Syria by Terror. Al Qaeda now rules in Syria, leading ethnic cleansing pogroms against all minorities and Sunni Muslim communities who reject the dark-age policies of the Takfiri settler-alliance.”
The role of Jonathan Powell is key in this. For more than a decade (1997-2007), Powell served as Tony Blair’s chief of staff and right-hand man. He was involved in the weapons of mass destruction fraud. In 2011, Powell formed Inter-Mediate (IM). Beeley uncovers that through IM, Powell worked to train Ahmad al-Sharaa. Al-Sharaa was the emir of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) from 2017 to 2025, the successor organization to Al Qaeda. Al-Sharaa helped lead the overthrow of President Bashar al-Assad, and since January 2025 is serving as President of Syria. Beeley quotes from Independent Arabia: “Informed sources revealed to ‘Independent Arabia’ that the British organization that provided political support and training to Syrian President [and HTS leader] Ahmad al-Sharaa is the London-based Inter-Mediate [of Jonathan Powell].”
Today, Powell is the National Security Adviser of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, continuing Blair’s influence.
