Estonia, the “mouse that roared,” is at it again, in its attempt to start a war against Russia. Estonia used a warship to try to divert a suspected “shadow fleet oil tanker,” the Jaguar, which was coming from India, from taking energy supplies to Russia. This is only the latest case of a Baltic country seeking to intercept a vessel servicing Moscow’s energy exports.
The warship, which was supported by NATO aircraft, ordered the freighter to change course, which it refused to do. There was also a helicopter deployed which attempted to land forces on the Jaguar, which did not succeed. A Russian Sukhoi flew to the area, perhaps in response to a call from Jaguar, probably to render support to the freighter if that were needed. The freighter was allowed to continue. The whole incident is said to have taken place in international waters.
