The conversation between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin “stunned” at least some of the leaders of the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Finland and the European Commission, when Trump briefed them, according to a Financial Times source. It was clear to them that Trump was “not ready to put greater pressure,” including sanctions, on Putin and that Trump could strike a deal running counter to Ukraine’s interests.
