India-Pakistan Military Tensions Continue without Letup

Pakistan Information Minister Atta Tarar’s April 30 warning that an Indian military incursion into Pakistan could begin within 24-36 hours has passed without such an incursion. However, military tensions between the two countries continue without letup.

According to a report in the Dawn small arms fire from Indian troops led Pakistani security forces to deliver “a robust response to India’s unprovoked ceasefire violation along the Line of Control (LoC), destroying an Indian check post after late-night aggression on April 29-30.” According to security officials, Indian troops resorted to unprovoked small arms fire in the Kiani and Mandal sectors, which was met with a prompt response.
