Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni did not join the meeting of the five “willing” (Macron, Merz, Zelenskyy, Tusk and Starmer) in Albania, explaining she did not go, because “Italy is not willing to send troops to Ukraine.”
The Italian pro-government wire ADN-Kronos commented on the meeting of the five stooges in Tirana: “The willing ones, i.e., those countries that are ready to send troops to Ukraine at the end (or at the freezing) of the conflict (Meloni’s Italy is not among them) look like a group of old friends who, at the end of the meal in the pizzeria, make a phone call to the one who did not show up. European leaders, excluded from the negotiations in Türkiye, try to coordinate an answer to Putin, going after Trump on Air Force One … hoping to influence the future of the negotiations or at least to send a joint message.”
