On ‘Brink of Extinction,’ Tories Are Calling for Boris Johnson To Return as Party Leader

Great Britain’s Conservative Party has sunk into fourth place among the country’s leading parties. This is driving calls for a return of former Prime Minister Boris Johnson to reenter politics as leader of the Tories.

A YouGov poll from May 20 put the Tories in fourth place, while Nigel Farage’s Reform UK Party topped the list with 29% of respondents ready to vote for it, followed by the ruling Labour Party (22%), and Liberal Democrats (17%).

While the British tabloid The Sun reports that the knives are out to dump Tory Party leader Kemi Badenoch, Boris Johnson’s old cronies are conspiring to bring the former Prime Minister back. “Some of the old gang around Boris Johnson are back texting and in talks to get him to return,” one source told The Sun. This follows a Tory secret ballot which showed that the only leader who would defeat Farage in an election was Johnson.
