Pentagon Chief Extends Aircraft Carrier Deployment in Red Sea

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth extended the deployment of the USS Harry S. Truman in the Red Sea for at least another week yesterday at the request of U.S. Central Command chief Gen. Michael Kurilla. AP reported that it is expected the Truman and its strike group warships will head home to Norfolk, Virginia, after the week is up. The Truman and its strike group have been deployed since last September.
