U.S. President Donald Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio had received written proposals on U.S.-EU trade from the hands of EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, during their meeting in Rome. Apparently, they were not satisfying for Washington, and Trump announced a 50% tariff to be effective in one week. Trump were not Trump if he did not boast his dissatisfaction in his typical way.

Writing on social media, he said: “Our discussions with them [the EU] are going nowhere!”
