Ukrainian troops will be marching in London’s May 8 VE Day parade. The U.K. Ministry of Defense said Ukrainian personnel will join around 1,000 U.K. service personnel from the Royal Navy, the Royal Marines, the British Army and the Royal Air Force in London on May 5, reported The Telegraph. This joining together will symbolize the global support for Ukraine’s “continued fight for freedom against Russia’s unprovoked, illegal invasion,” Britain’s MOD said.
Moscow has condemned London’s decision. “Inviting followers of neo-Nazi elements to Victory Day celebrations is not just disrespectful to those British veterans who gave their lives during World War II. It is blasphemy,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on May 3.
