Israel and the United States have written a 14-page plan to provide “food,” and some medical and sanitary means to the Palestinian people of Gaza. Their proposal emerges as Benjamin Netanyahu has blocked food, fuel, medicine, and other vital supplies from entering Gaza for 78 days, which has led to starvation, emaciation, and death.
An examination of the plan, based on excerpts provided by the Associated Press, National Public Radio, and BBC, indicates that it will militarize food delivery, limit the amount of food delivered, and cause great degradation on top of the genocide that it has inflicted. It will dismantle the existing and well-functioning UN and UNRWA system that exists to provide food and supplies.
The pretext for the plan is that it will prevent Hamas from stealing food. Under the 14-page plan, a private charity, named the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, which was just registered in Switzerland in February, will run the food and other distribution, in coordination with a group of private contractors. Some of the plan’s proposals include:
First, the plan will reduce the number of food distribution sites from the current 400 to just 4, which will be located in the south of the country. Israeli military troops will surround the new distribution centers.
Second, to reach the new distribution centers, many Palestinians will have to move to southern Gaza, leaving their homes in the north, likely on a permanent basis, exactly what the Israelis, Christian Zionists, and their London sponsors have sought.
Third, Israeli media reported that Israeli forces were already setting up distribution hubs in Rafah, in southern Gaza. BBC reported on May 9, “According to reports, Israel expects that aid will be distributed to security-screened representatives from each Gaza family who would be allowed to take supplies for his or her relatives only. They would be allowed into the hubs only on foot.” This is likely the model for the 14-page plan.
