Sahra Wagenknecht, leader of the Bündnis Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW) party, has criticized the German government decision to not hold truthful memorial ceremonies recognizing the end of World War II 80 years ago. “The Federal government commemorates May 8, 1945 with far too few events and dates,” she said. “This unworthy commemoration unfortunately fits in with the new German Zeitgeist, which seeks to mentally prepare us for the next war with Russia.”
