In spite of her atrocious record on foreign policy and her lack of knowledge of basic geometric principles, former German Foreign Minister Analena Baerbock was elected with 167 votes to be the new leader of the UN General Assembly. Back in May, presented with her nomination to this position, Russian Federation Deputy Permanent Representative Dmitry Polyanskiy said, “The decision of the authorities in Berlin, instead of the previously announced candidate who satisfied everyone, to impose on all of us to the post of chairman of the 80th anniversary session of the UN General Assembly, Ms. Baerbock, who has repeatedly proved her incompetence, extreme bias and ignorance of the basic principles of diplomacy, is nothing more than a slap in the face to the world organization, a flagrant display of contempt for it.”
Given her various pro-war and -genocide policy positions, her appointment will not bring about relief for anyone in war-torn regions.
