European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, known as the China hawk neo-con gave raging speeches at the G7 meeting in Canada. “China has largely shown its unwillingness to live within the constraints of the rules-based international system,” she said. “While others opened their market China focused on undercutting intellectual property protections, massive subsidies with the aim to dominate global manufacturing and supply chains.” She has also condemned Beijing’s close ties to Moscow.
According to the Financial Times, Brussels refused to attend a high-level meeting with Beijing before the EU-China Summit in late July. Chinese medical device suppliers have been banned from bidding on public contracts.
