German Chancellor Friedrich Merz is getting a blowback from his statements that Israel is “doing the dirty work for all of us” by attacking Iran. Popular German comedian Dieter “Didi” Hallervorden and former Left Party member of the Bundestag Diether Dehm are filing criminal charges against him, the Berliner Zeitung reported. The complaint has been filed with the Federal Prosecutor General and the Berlin Public Prosecutor’s Office, and is signed by 20 artists, musicians, and cabaret performers, and also BSW politicians, member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Andrej Hunko and MEP Michael von der Schulenburg.
Merz had made his statements, which mark the lowest point of his moral degeneracy so far, on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Canada, in remarks to a ZDF journalist.
