Iranian Foreign Minister Reaffirms Tehran Has No Desire To Possess Nuclear Weapons

Foreign Minister of Iran Abbas Araghchi said that Iran was prepared to relinquish any attempt to develop nuclear weapons. “We are ready for any agreement aimed at preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. But if the goal of the agreement is to deprive Iran of its nuclear rights, then we are not ready for such an agreement,” said Araghchi, according to Mehr News. He said that Iran had been prepared to go to the scheduled meeting on Sunday with a plan for moving forward on the agreement, but this was undermined by the Israeli sneak attack on Iran.
