Israel Blocks Saudi-Led Delegation from Visiting Palestinian Authority

An article published by Axiox on May 30 clearly indicates U.S. opposition to the Franco-Saudi drive to recognize a Palestinian State at the June 17-20 New York UN Conference.

In yet another demonstration of U.S.-backed arrogance, Israel decided to block a visit to the Palestinian Authority planned for June 1 by Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan, together with the Foreign Ministers from United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, and Türkiye. The visit to Ramallah was intended “as part of a Saudi diplomatic initiative to push for international recognition of a Palestinian state.” Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman personally supported the trip. The delegation was to arrive on June 1 in two helicopters from Jordan and to meet Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah.
