Over the period June 7-9, the thrust of the two emergency strategic bulletins issued by the LaRouche movement on British-fueled increase in WWIII danger, was presented on four Ibero-American media channels. The audiences were informed that they were part of an international mobilization of the Schiller Institute and the IPC to brief all audiences and media outlets we have access to—numbering perhaps 100 around the world on all continents.
On Saturday, June 7, Dennis Small addressed an audience in the Dominican Republic for one hour on the weekly program “Let’s Talk About Science, Technology and Society,” hosted by IPC-regular Miguel Cabrera, on the topic “War Between Ukraine and Russia, and a Possible Nuclear Confrontation.” Cabrera asked Dennis thoughtful questions about the strategic situation, emphasizing to his audience that the Schiller Institute was performing a unique role internationally, and urging them to join the weekly IPC meetings.
Later the same day, Dennis made an hour-long presentation and then took questions for an hour, in a webinar organized by Prof. Jairo Carvalho’s “National Sovereignty Group” in Uberlãndia, Brazil. The title that had been given to the event was “The Significance of the Trump Government,” and Dennis began by saying we should first clarify whether or not Trump runs the government, or if the British and their U.S. allies were determining policy. That led to a broad discussion of the strategic situation unleashed by the Ukrainian drone attack on the Russian airbases. Dennis spoke in Spanish and worked through useful complexities and ironies in depth. The questions included “What do the British and their friends gain by continuing the war? What about Karp/Palantir? What is the relationship of Musk and Trump? Trump is a chaotic figure; isn’t Bolsonaro in Brazil a miniature Trump?” The link to the video of the discussion will be posted in the Slack General channel on Tuesday.
Also on Saturday evening, Cynthia Rush led off a full discussion of the strategic situation on a continent-wide weekly zoom meeting of about 15 leftist activists that meet on a zoom program called “Info al Desnudo” ("The Truth Unclothed"). Several participants reinforced her briefing, one in particular giving chapter and verse of the NATO provocations vs. Russia, focused especially on the 2014 coup.
On the afternoon of June 9, Tim Rush was the guest of a one-hour live interview show in Brazil, conducted in Portuguese. The hosts opened by referring to our statements last week and Helga’s 10 Principles, and went from there. The hosts, who come from left circles, were clear on the importance of Trump’s efforts to normalize relations with Russia and China, and bring the Ukraine war to an end. They gave Tim lots of latitude to develop the British role fomenting war and chaos, including assassination dangers to Trump and Putin. The platform is called TV-Comunitaria-Rio, which operates in a public access format. It is syndicated to 8-9 cities around the country, including major ones such as Recife, Belo Horizonte, Curitiba, and Porte Alegre.
