Trump Compares U.S. Strikes on Iran to Hiroshima and Nagasaki Bombings

President Donald Trump, in a tear against media coverage of a leaked Pentagon intelligence report casting doubt on his claims that the Iranian nuclear program was “obliterated” by U.S. strikes on June 22, compared those strikes to the 1945 atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. “That hit ended the war,” he told reporters at the NATO summit, today, referring to the U.S. strikes on Iran.

“I don’t want to use an example of Hiroshima. I don’t want to use an example of Nagasaki, but that was essentially the same thing,” he said. “That ended that war. This ended that with... If we didn’t take that out they’d be fighting right now.”
