U.S. Warns Against French-Saudi UN Conference on a 'Two-State' Solution

Reuters reports that it has seen a U.S. cable, a “diplomatic démarche,” sent on June 10, warning countries that are taking seriously next week’s conference at the UN, sponsored by France and Saudi Arabia, on a two-state solution for the Israel-Palestine conflict. The conference is centered on a roadmap for a Palestinian state which simultaneously ensures Israel’s security.

The démarche reportedly says that countries that take “anti-Israel actions” following the conference will be viewed as acting in opposition to U.S. foreign policy interests and could face diplomatic consequences from Washington. Reuters quotes sections:
