The sick, sick joke continues, as today, for the third day in a row, dozens of Palestinians, including women and children, were shot dead around the ‘safe’ Gaza Humanitarian Foundation food distribution site in Rafah, while the GHF declares that there are no problems. On a day when 184 Gazans showed up at the Red Cross field hospital in Rafah, most all with gunshot wounds, the Times of Israel reported that the GHF “insisted that aid at the Rafah site was handed out without incident.”
The GHF claims that their successful project so far has distributed 7 million meals in the last 8 days in south and central Gaza. What that means, by their accounting, is 70,000 pre-screened individuals each have, twice over the last 8 days, carried off from the “Safe Distribution Sites” 40-lb boxes, which include dry food products, to negotiate their way back home. They are supposed to find the necessary cooking equipment—scarce in Gaza these days—and feed their family for 4 days/box. The GHF claims that each box can produce up to 50 meals. Assumedly, the GHF design has 70,000 pre-screened individuals portioning out up to 12.5 meals/day to extended family members. (It is not clear how they keep the 70,000 from slipping food to politically-incorrect people.) In other words, the GHF design is to have a
However, south and central Gaza have, at best estimates, at least 1.8 million of Gaza’s 2.2 million Palestinians. While 400,000 in northern Gaza continue to starve, in south and central Gaza, 70,000 hardy souls carry their 40-lb boxes once every 4 days, while at least 960,000 more, completely cut off, get to watch the boxes pass them by, creating tension and discord. It is a recipe for an engineered disaster.
The interim director of the U.S.-based GHF, John Acree, actually bragged: “It proves our model is functional and is an effective means to deliver lifesaving assistance to the Gazan people under emergency conditions.” The GHF explanation today is: “We understand that IDF is investigating whether a number of civilians were injured after moving beyond the designated safe corridor and into a closed military zone. This was an area well beyond our secure distribution site and operations area. We recognize the difficult nature of the situation and advise all civilians to remain in the safe corridor when traveling to our distribution sites.”
Besides the deliberate food blockade and the deliberate destruction of living quarters, evidencing a deliberate policy of ethnic cleansing, what has been added, under “humanitarian” cover, is the weaponization of food, designed to set the population against each other. Is this the best the U.S. can do?
