Claudio Celani was invited as a guest on the July 28 talk show “Dietro Il Sipario”—“Behind the Theater Curtain”—on Visione TV, entitled: “Lavrov: Russia Is Fighting against the Entire West.” The show, moderated by Visione TV director Francesco Toscano, included two guests, and dealt with U.S.-Russia relations as well as the U.S.-EU trade deal. Toscano is a leader of the “Democrazia Sovrana e Popolare” party, and yesterday’s talk show had over 31,000 YouTube viewers as of this morning.
Each guest answered two rounds of questions, with Celani having the chance to set the tone. To the question on how to read Lavrov and Trump’s statements, Celani suggested giving greatest importance to Lavrov and less to Trump (his so-called ultimatum to Putin). He then briefed the audience on Gabbard’s reports and the implications of the investigation on the origins and aims of the Russiagate hoax. The two guests endorsed Celani’s analyses, with one of them, however, going too far in endorsing Trump’s policies.
The second round of questions was on the EU-U.S. trade deal. Celani blasted the deal as the most recent of von der Leyen’s failures, from the EU budget flop to the EU-China fiasco. As he was describing the missed chance of cooperating with China to help the European economies to recover, going into the Schiller Institute proposal for joint development of Africa, the moderator cut him short for reasons of time, which several viewers protested. “How can one ask Celani to make it short, when he is saying what is most interesting?” asked one viewer. Another one: “Telling Celani to make it short, when he is talking about a dam built by the Italians. Please, Francesco, cut your jokes on TV soap operas, not Celani!”
