“Without question, I witnessed war crimes by the Israel Defense Forces, without a doubt. Using artillery rounds, mortar rounds, firing tank rounds into unarmed civilians is a war crime,” said former U.S. Army Special Forces Lieutenant-Colonel Anthony Aguilar in a July 25 interview on BBC. Aguilar, who is a veteran of the U.S. Army’s Green Berets, was hired by the U.S. and Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), but resigned from his role after witnessing the shelling of aid-seeking civilians.
