Gen. (ret.) Yair Golan, the chair of Israel’s Democrat Party, today called the proposed legislation to deny him his military rank and associated privileges, “some petty uproar surrounding an unimportant law by an unimportant MK who wants to deny me rights.”
Golan, an Israeli hero on Oct. 7, 2023, had recently enraged Netanyahu’s government and the warmongering extremists led by National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, by publicly criticizing their operations in Gaza.
