U.S. Airstrikes on Yemen.

Israel launched air strikes on three Yemen ports and a power plant yesterday, Reuters reported this morning. The strikes on Hodeidah, Ras Isa, and Salif ports, and Ras Qantib power plant were due to repeated Houthi attacks on Israel, the military added. Hours after the strikes, the Israeli military said two missiles were launched from Yemen and attempts were made to intercept them, but the results of interception were still under review.

The Israeli strikes came hours after the crew of a ship sailing in the southern part of the Red Sea, off the Yemeni coast, reported it was abandoning ship following an attack. Maritime security sources cited by Reuters said the vessel, which they identified as the Liberian-flagged, Greek-owned bulk carrier Magic Seas, had taken on water after being hit by sea drones. It was first targeted by gunfire and self-propelled grenades launched from eight small boats, with armed security on the ship returning fire, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations and Ambrey said in advisories. The ship reportedly sank after the crew got off.
