This past weekend saw a surge of deadly incidents in Gaza, led by reports of Israeli massacres of starving Palestinians trying to get food off a UN convoy that entered Gaza through the Zikim crossing in the north yesterday. The numbers of those reported killed range from 66 to 79 with over 150 wounded. The UN World Food Program said 25 trucks with aid had entered for “starving communities,” when it encountered massive crowds, reported AP. An anonymous UN official told AP that Israeli forces opened fire toward crowds who tried to take food from the convoy.
“Suddenly, tanks surrounded us and trapped us as gunshots and strikes rained down. We were trapped for around two hours,” said Ehab Al-Zei, who had been waiting for flour and said he hadn’t eaten bread in 15 days.
