In the past, power outages in Germany were rare. This week, there were power outages in the industrial city of Russelsheim near Frankfurt, home of the Opel auto factory. 8,000 households were affected. A similar pattern can be observed in numerous other cities, where the decades-old electricity grid tends to fail, with outages sometimes lasting for hours. Disinvestment which extremist budget-balancers decree is to blame.

Power outages, caused by other factors than those in Germany, and usually for just a few minutes, also occurred in Czechia, forcing trains, elevators, gasoline stations into a standstill. It may be assumed that being part of a joint EU network together with Germany, Czechia has been affected by irregularities in neighboring Germany, which because of its erratic greenie policy, suddenly knocks on the Czech door to receive an extra volume from there. Minor irregularities, particularly caused by typical ups and downs triggered by solar panels and the lack of wind power can potentially cause big problems in the European grid.
