Firsthand Report from Belarus on Trump-Lukashenko Conversation: Honest and Open

According to Belarus’s BelTA News, U.S. President Donald Trump accepted the invitation of President Aleksandr Lukashenko to come to Belarus and visit Minsk. That has not been confirmed from Washington, but after his phone call with Lukashenko, Trump posted on Truth Social: “I look forward to meeting President Lukashenko in the future.”

Separately, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Belarus to the United Nations Valentin Rybakov made a few comments on the air of the Belarusian TV channel First News about yesterday’s phone conversation. When asked who initiated the conversation, Rybakov, who had served as an interpreter for the call, reported that Trump had called. He said that the bilateral agenda was discussed, as well as prospects of advancing the mutual relations of the two countries. Regional problems were also mentioned, including the conflict in Ukraine. The leaders also talked about events in the Middle East.
