In Independence Day Speech, Zelenskyy Rejects Trump's Calls for Land for Peace

Speaking on the occasion of Ukraine’s independence day, Volodymyr Zelenskyy rejected calls from President Trump to give up territorial claims as part of a peace deal. Naming Donetsk, Lugansk, and Crimea, he said that “all of this is Ukraine … and no temporary occupation can alter that.”

“It is only a matter of time,” he prognosticated. “And Ukraine believes it can achieve this—secure peace, peace across its entire land. Ukraine is capable of it.”
