Speaking on the occasion of Ukraine’s independence day, Volodymyr Zelenskyy rejected calls from President Trump to give up territorial claims as part of a peace deal. Naming Donetsk, Lugansk, and Crimea, he said that “all of this is Ukraine … and no temporary occupation can alter that.”
“It is only a matter of time,” he prognosticated. “And Ukraine believes it can achieve this—secure peace, peace across its entire land. Ukraine is capable of it.”
