Like his British controllers, Ukrainian acting President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is in a state of panic following President Donald Trump’s announcement that he will be meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on Aug. 15. Zelenskyy has been making phone calls to his equally panic-stricken European allies in an effort to shore up support for keeping the war going. As of this writing, he has spoken to U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal, Danish Prime Minister Mette Fredericksen, French President Emmanuel Macron, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez and Finnish President Alexander Stubb.
“Ukraine, France, and all our partners are ready to work as productively as possible for the sake of real peace,” Zelenskyy said on X after his call with Macron. “It is truly important that the Russians do not succeed in deceiving anyone again. We all need a genuine end to the war and reliable security foundations for Ukraine and other European nations.”
