U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order today, which extended a tariff truce with China for another 90 days. Without this extension, U.S. tariffs on imported Chinese goods would have been set to 145% on August 12. China has stated that it would respond with 125% tariffs on U.S. goods imported into China.
On Sunday August 10, Trump had urged that China quadruple its purchases of U.S. soybeans, but China’s response is unknown.
