Walpurgisnacht in August: European Ghouls Dis Trump-Putin Summit

Around midnight in Europe, leaders of Britain, Finland, France, Germany, Poland and the European Union issued a “forceful” joint statement, ostensibly encouraging Trump’s peacemaking efforts, but merely pontificating that Russia was solely responsible for the war. Their statement appeared in the Washington Post.

“We reiterate that Russia’s unprovoked and illegal invasion of Ukraine is a flagrant violation of the UN Charter, the Helsinki Final Act, the Budapest Memorandum, and successive Russian commitments,” read the statement issued by U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Finnish President Alex Stubb, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and European Commission President Ursual von der Leyen. “We underline our unwavering commitment to Ukraine’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.”
