Another delicate aspect of the recent Ursula von der Leyen deal with Donald Trump on LNG has emerged: The U.S. doesn’t have enough LNG to sell €250 billion a year worth to Europe, even if it redirected to the EU all of its LNG exports to the rest of the world combined. Will the U.S. import LNG from other countries to have enough to sell to the EU? If the U.S. were to buy LNG from Russia to resell to the EU at higher prices, where would be the future without any Russian fossil fuels which von der Leyen spoke of when presenting her brilliant deal with Trump?
