The 2025 World Games are taking place in Chengdu, marking the first time the event (which includes sports that are not part of the Olympics) has been held in mainland China. The 2009 World Games were held in Kaohsiung, in Taiwan, which the World Games refers to, as does the Olympics, as Chinese Taipei.
