A New, Just World Economic Order Must Supplant the Evils of War

On Tuesday, in yet another brazen violation of international law, Israel unleashed long-range strikes into Doha, Qatar, targeting leaders of Hamas who had gathered there to discuss the latest U.S. ceasefire proposal for Gaza. At around 4:00 pm local time, twelve air strikes hit residential buildings in the city, killing two, including the son of a Hamas leader, and wounding others. Israel proudly announced its responsibility for the “precise strikes,” against “the top terrorist chieftains of Hamas,” and said that it had informed the White House prior to the attack.
Helga Zepp-LaRouche responded, “If Trump does not condemn this, it’s the law of the jungle.”
The White House issued a statement condemning the location of the attack—"Unilaterally bombing inside Qatar, a sovereign nation in close ally of the United States that is working very hard in bravely taking risks with us to broker peace, does not advance Israel or America’s goals”—but not the objective of it, calling the elimination of Hamas “a worthy goal,” even as Hamas sat down to consider a U.S. proposal for a ceasefire.
The strikes in Doha followed closely behind similar Israeli bombings of “terrorist targets” inside Lebanon and Syria on Monday and Tuesday, demonstrating, once again, that the function of the current Israeli government is to blow up the possibility of peace.
But remember, Israel is not the policy master; it is the hand grenade. Lyndon LaRouche’s comments in 2001 on the Israel of then-Prime Minister Ariel Sharon are perhaps even more applicable today: “All among those of us who understand the strategic implications of the role currently assigned to those Israeli Caesars, know with certainty, as martyred Prime Minister Rabin knew, that the end result of what Sharon and his IDF masters are doing, will be the obliteration of Israel.”
So, cui bono? Who threw the hand grenade?
To begin to understand that, you must look top down at the long-term process which has led to the lawful collapse of the British Empire-led neocolonial world order, which took hold in the wake of the death of U.S. President Franklin Roosevelt. That geopolitical system of looting and war is over, and the great Global Majority, the greater part of humanity, is forming a new world economic order.
In her Sept. 5, 2025 statement, “The Nations of the West Must Cooperate with the New World Economic Order!,” available for mass circulation on the Schiller Institute website, Schiller Institute founder Helga Zepp-LaRouche points to the significance of recent developments around that new system:
“At the summit of the SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) in Tianjin—representing around 42% of the world’s population—a new world order has emerged, independent of the West, founded on the principles of sovereignty, non-interference, mutually-beneficial economic cooperation, and peaceful collaboration…. The countries gathered at the SCO, along with the various interconnected organizations such as the BRICS, the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), ASEAN, CELAC, and the African Union (AU), collectively represent 85% of humanity.”
Hear Milton’s Lucifer, speaking with the panicked voice of today’s neocolonial global elite, shriek, “Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven”! It should be no surprise that at the moment in history at which the entire human species could, for the first time, replace colonialism with a win-win system for the good of all of humanity, we are also in a period of maximum danger of provocations toward war.
Which direction we will go in depends on what we, citizens of humanity, can do today—right now—to shift the tide in the West toward cooperation with that new system. This is the only solution for the horrors unfolding in Gaza, which more and more voices are demanding action to stop.
“Thus, the world has reached an absolute turning point,” Zepp-LaRouche states. “We can either continue the geopolitical confrontation against Russia and China, risking a third—and this time final—world war, or we can choose to cooperate with this emerging new economic system….
“It is in the fundamental self-interest of the nations of the Collective West—no longer truly united—to cooperate with the states of the Global Majority and to jointly address the great challenges facing humankind: overcoming poverty and underdevelopment, ensuring lasting world peace, and securing the right of every person on this planet to fulfill their potential.”
