In the plenary session this morning of Germany’s Bundestag on the fiscal budget 2025-2026, AfD leader Alice Weidel accused Chancellor Friedrich Merz of “warmongering,” adding “You are sabotaging U.S. President Donald Trump’s efforts to end the war in Ukraine quickly.” Weidel also accused Merz of having “broken every election promise”—such as the return to nuclear power and the reduction in electricity tax.
