Anti-Genocide Movement Gains Momentum in Germany

Following several pro-Gaza rallies taking place past week, the next major event in Berlin on September 27 is being organized by the Palestinian Community in Germany, eye4palestine, Amnesty International, and medico, under the slogan “All Eyes on Gaza—Stop the Genocide!” The organizing statement calls for ending all military cooperation with Israel, allowing unhindered access of humanitarian aid into Gaza, defending the rights of German academics and others to protest the war, etc.

The initiators are:

Amal Hamad, Chairwoman of the German-Palestinian Women’s Association; Basem Said, educator and activist, involved in the Palestinian community in Berlin; Iman Abu El Qomsan, engineer, lost more than 80 family members in Gaza; Jules El-Khatib, university lecturer, lost more than 20 family members in Gaza; Michael Barenboim, violinist (son of Daniel Barenboim).
