Florida’s surgeon general today announced plans to end all state vaccine mandates, including for children to attend schools. Surgeon General Joseph A. Ladapo stated: “There are a handful, maybe a half a dozen vaccines that are mandated. So those are going to be gone for sure. We need to end it. It’s the right thing to do.” Up to now, children attending schools needed to be immunized against polio, measles, mumps, chicken pox and hepatitis. Ladapo explained that every vaccine mandate “is wrong and drips with disdain and slavery.” It is suspected that he holds the same position with regard to the tyranny of traffic lights.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who endorsed the move, said his administration can unilaterally end some vaccine mandates but that “the rest would require changes from the legislature.” At their joint press conference, DeSantis also announced a Florida version of “Make America Healthy Again.”
