French Parliament July Report on EU-China Cooperation

The coming issue of Nouvelle Solidarité is publishing excerpts from a report on EU-China relations issued by the Foreign Affairs Commission of the French Parliament on July 4. The report exposes Brussels’ confrontationist line against China, and calls for a shift in the direction of cooperation. The report was drafted by Sophia Chikirou, from the La France Insoumise party, and has provoked violent reactions from anglophile politicians and journalists.

Here are the report excerpts that Nouvelle Solidarité published:

“Since the Commission’s 2019 communication, which now describes China as an ‘economic competitor’ and ‘systemic rival,’ and no longer just a cooperation partner, relations have deteriorated.
