Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has threatened to kill the Houthi leadership and fly the Israeli flag over Sana’a. “Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, your time will come. You will be sent to meet your government plenary and all the eliminated members of the axis of evil who are waiting in the depths of hell,” he said in a posting on X, addressing the leader of the Ansarallah Houthi movement, the {Times of Israel reported on Sept. 19. “The slogan ‘Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews’ written on the Houthi flag will be replaced by the Israeli blue-and-white flag that will fly over the capital of a united Yemen.”
A Houthi spokesman dismissed Katz’s threat. “You talk about the occupation of Sana’a, whilst you cannot take back a single vessel,” Mohammed al-Farah, a member of the Ansarullah political bureau, said late on Sept. 19, reported PressTV. He added, “Before talking about Sana’a, you would better take action and end the shutdown of the Port of Eilat.” Farah was referring to a series of strikes by Yemeni Armed Forces against strategic installations within the Israeli-occupied territories on Thursday night, Sept. 18.
In a televised statement aired by Yemen’s al-Masirah TV, the Yemeni military spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree said a long-range hypersonic ballistic missile had targeted a military site in the city of Tel Aviv, while three drones hit targets in the city of Beersheba and the port city of Eilat. “Eilat will remain under the continuous targeting of our military operations,” Saree proclaimed.
