Israel escalated its campaign of military violence against its “enemies” on Sept. 8 with airstrikes against both Lebanon and Syria.

At least five people were killed in northeastern Lebanon on Sept. 8 from Israeli airstrikes, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry, reported The National of the U.A.E. “The Israeli enemy strikes on the Bekaa and the outskirts of Hermel led to a preliminary toll of five dead and five others wounded,” the Ministry said, adding that the toll could rise.

The Israeli army claimed it had struck several “terror” targets belonging to Hezbollah in the Bekaa area, adding that the attack included “Radwan force” military training compounds in which Hezbollah militants were identified and where weapons were stored. The compounds “were used by the Hezbollah ... for training and preparing” militants “to plan and execute attacks” against Israeli troops, it said.
