The mass rally in London on Saturday, Sept. 13, estimated at more than 150,000 people, with some claiming a million, was organized by Tommy Robinson, with a contribution by Elon Musk. This marks a new phase of the anti-migrant hysteria in the U.K. which is being provoked as part of the “strategy of tension” internationally, with wars and sectarian rage being escalated, to a great extent in response to the emergence of the new global paradigm set in motion by the SCO/Sept. 3/Vladivostok meetings of early September.
EIR ally Mike Robinson, the editor of UK Column, points out that Tommy Robinson is backed, quite openly, both politically and financially, by Zionist lobby institutions in the U.S. and U.K. Tommy Robinson, together with Nigel Farage’s Reform UK party, have built up an anti-migrant and anti-Muslim movement in the U.K., attracting many who are suffering from the decline of the nation’s economy, some of whom joined the mass rally for their own reasons.
China’s semi-official daily Global Times covered the event as an expression of a “rightward turn that has occurred in several Western countries including the U.S. in recent years.” They note that Elon Musk spoke at the rally (Mike Robinson added that Musk accused “Democrats” of being the assassins in the Charlie Kirk case), and that the rally praised Kirk. They remark that, “In January this year, Musk publicly called on X to ‘Free Tommy Robinson,’ who had been sentenced to 18 months in prison for contempt of court in October 2024.”
The Global Times report includes the useful closing comment: “These contradictions, such as unequal distribution, sluggish economic growth, relative impoverishment of the populace, and external turmoil, unfortunately, are hardly thoroughly resolved by current Western political systems. And these are precisely the root causes of the current predicament of the West.”
