Mercenary Erik Prince Prowling for Business in Ukraine

Like an emerald wasp looking to bury its eggs inside its stung and dying host, Erik Prince, of Blackwater infamy, is prowling for business in Ukraine. “In the streets of Kyiv, military hawks and defense privateers have described how Erik Prince, Maga disciple and founder of the now-defunct mercenary company Blackwater, has been aggressively pitching his services and looking to buy,” The Guardian reported. In particular, Prince is interested in Ukraine’s drone industry and has been seeking meetings with leading industry players.

“Erik is going out there to buy drone companies,” said one of the sources, with another confirming that Prince was in the hunt to acquire drone makers with a footprint in Ukraine. “Whether they would sell them …” the source said. “For the Ukrainians these companies are now strategic assets.” And, as The Guardian describes in detail, Prince’s reputation precedes him and so a lot of people refuse to do business with him.
