Senator Aleksey Pushkov, chairman of the information policy commission of Russia’s Federation Council, its upper house of the National Assembly (parliament), called the killing of U.S. conservative commentator Charlie Kirk a “clear message” to U.S. President Donald Trump. Writing on his Telegram channel after the event, Pushkov said: “This is a clear message to all prominent figures of America’s public and political life who have similar views and who are not afraid to share them with people. And the main addressee is probably the U.S. president. Is it a warning to Trump?” According to TASS, Pushkov said the incident echoes the assassination attempt on Trump in July 2024.
