Spain Cancels Israel Arms Deal

Following last week’s announcement by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez that his government would “consolidate in law” a ban on military equipment sales to or from Israel, Spain has reportedly cancelled a purchase of Israeli rocket launchers worth some €700 million. First reported by local media and the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, the cancellation was formalized on Spain’s official public contracts platform on Sept. 9.
